What do I expect from the Upcoming GMC Acadia? The new generation of this mid-size crossover has been long-awaited news since the current model has been around for years. From the test model with many limitations, it seems that the new generation of GMC Acadia is pretty promising.

2024 GMC Acadia Redesign Exterior & Interior (What’s New?)

I am familiar with the current generation of mid-size crossover by GMC that has been on the road since 2016. I think the mid-size crossover market is getting much more competitive nowadays. It has been a long since GMC released its latest mid-size crossover, and it is about time to release a new version or at least redesigned version.

I believe the GMC management team is fully aware of this circumstance. That is why it will not be surprising if a new generation is on the way.

The development of the GMC mid-size crossover new generation has been done for a while. According to the rumors, it will be the 2024 GMC Acadia that will be released next year.

I expect a lot of novelties from the redesigned version of this mid-size crossover. It will be great if improvements can be made in all aspects. However, the very first change that must be mentioned from the 2024 GMC Acadia is the larger size of this new model.

A new platform will be used for this mid-size crossover. This change will play a great role in improving the ride quality, after all. Since it is a redesigned version, I think new aesthetics will be another important element of the upcoming GMC Acadia. Some improvements should also be found, including for the powertrain.

The test mule of the new Acadia has been witnessed on the road a couple of times so far. Of course, the appearance is still complete camouflage. At least people can see the overall shape of the mid-size crossover.

Compared to the current model, I do not think there is a significant change in the overall shape. Nevertheless, it will be bigger than the previous model after all. Besides bigger overall dimensions, the new model will also come with a longer wheelbase.

I want to talk about the aesthetics of the upcoming mid-size crossover, but it is still too early to talk about the details. The test model might be out on the road, but it is still covered. If I can presume, the front end of the new generation of GMC Acadia will have more elements from the new Yukon and Sierra models. I expect it to be more aggressive and bolder than the outgoing design.

The interior of the 2024 GMC Acadia remains a mystery since people do not have a chance to see the cabin yet.

Since GMC has released no official information, I can only expect the new model to come with a much nicer cabin design, including the materials and overall build quality.

I also have a high expectation of new aesthetics that will deliver a more attractive dashboard along with a bunch of new technology and convenience features.

The bigger size will surely mean a lot to the New GMC Acadia’s interior aspect. I expected more space for the third row particularly and improved cargo volume.

New Standard Features (Infotainment, Safety, Driving Assist)

If people still have difficulty seeing the 2024 GMC Acadia cabin, it must be much more difficult to find out more about the new standard features planted in the mid-size crossover. Yet, a photographer can shoot a glimpse of the cabin.

Well, I do not expect too much from the photo because even the cabin will be covered. Nevertheless, a source can confirm that the 2024 GMC Acadia comes with a Super Cruise feature in the new cabin. There might also be a digital instrument display behind the steering wheel. A new center display seems perched above climate vents, as well.

Under The Hood

The new generation of GMC Acadia will feature a front-wheel-drive layout. On the other hand, the all-wheel-drive layout will be offered as an optional system. The previous generation of this mid-size crossover comes with a pretty great powertrain. That is why I do not think that the next generation of GMC Acadia will come with significant changes in the powertrain.

The 2024 Acadia might still come with the 3.6-liter V6 engine as the main powertrain. The current version of the 3.6-liter V6 engine can produce about 310 horsepower. However, I still cannot erase the possibility of a little power boost from the engine of the 2024 Acadia.

Will I find the option with a less powerful engine with more efficient performance? The chance is still there, for sure. The engine option might be a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that can deliver about 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

What about the transmission? If the 2024 GMC Acadia hits the market with a V6 engine and a turbo-four engine, both might be combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Release Date & Price

When will the 2024 GMC Acadia mid-size crossover hit the market? Since it is a 2024 model, I expect the release in 2023. Some sources said it should be in early 2023, but others said it would be in the second half of 2023.

The starting price of the 2024 GMC Acadia will be around 38.000 dollars. With this price tag, the new generation of GMC mid-size crossover can be the competitor of the Nissan Pathfinder and Hyundai Palisade.
