2020 GMC Canyon Denali Pickup Truck Model

2020 GMC Canyon Denali Truck | There are many mid-size pickup trucks in the market. However, not many are like the GMC Canyon lineup. This lineup has been in the market for no more than five years. And yet, it has been able to gain a decent market share, which speaks of its quality.

Soon, we will see its next iteration: the New GMC Canyon. We have seen a mild reboot for the Previous GMC Canyon. The questions are, what will the 2020 Canyon bring on the table? How will it look like? What kind of engine will it be powered by? There are many interesting things about this mid-size pickup truck. Want to know more? Just read on.

2020 GMC Canyon Redesign

The GMC Canyon lineup has received a mild reboot for the 2019 model. As such, we are unlikely to see a major change in the 2020 GMC Canyon. In other words, the 2020 Canyon will inherit most of the features of the Previous Canyon, including its exterior and interior.

Although we don’t expect a major change for the 2020 Canyon, GMC may give it some small changes and updates that will make the upcoming mid-size pickup truck look even better. At the very least, it will look more modern and sophisticated, the kind of look that is fitting for a 2020 mid-size pickup truck.

Exterior Facelift

The exterior is one of the lineup’s strengths. So far, the lineup has produced good-looking mid-size pickup trucks. The most recent iteration, the Previous GMC Canyon has a rugged, sporty, and stylish exterior for a mid-size pickup truck. The 2020 GMC Canyon should have more or less the same exterior as its predecessor. The lack of change is not a problem, though. The upcoming Canyon should be at least as good-looking as the Previous Canyon.

Interior Changes

While the exterior looks rugged, sporty, and stylish, the interior of the Previous Canyon reminds us of a car’s interior. The interior is well-finished and is made with solid quality materials. There is enough room for everyone inside. It has a decent cargo space as well. We can expect the same quality from the 2020 Canyon.

2020 GMC Canyon Specs

The Previous GMC Canyon comes with three engine options. The base engine is a 2.5L, inline-4, cylinder engine with an output of 200 horsepower with 191 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is optional and more powerful engine: a 3.6L, V6 engine with an output of 308 horsepower with 275 lb-ft of torque. The third engine is also optional, a good option for those who want more torque: a 2.8L, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel engine with an output of 186 horsepower with a whopping 369 lb-ft of torque.

All of the engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The model with manual transmission uses a rear-wheel drive system as the standard. A 6-speed auto transmission gearbox is available as an option and it uses four-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive.

We expect the 2020 GMC Canyon to continue to use the engines above. So far, these engines have been able to prove its capability so there is no problem if there is no any new option given. That being said, it is possible GMC will tweak those engines to make them more capable than they already are. However, whether or not this will happen, we don’t know. Only time will tell.

Features & Configurations

The feature is one of the strongest points that make the GMC Canyon lineup standout from its competitions. We can see this from the latest iteration. The Previous GMC Canyon is well-equipped, even for the base trim level. Canyon, the base trim model, comes with these features as standard: 18-inch wheels, cloth upholstery, a 7-inch display with an infotainment system, smartphone compatibility (both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), power driver seat, an audio system with six speakers, and vinyl seats.

The SLE trim comes with the base trim features but with some improvements. For example, an 8.0-inch infotainment system (navigation included), alloy wheels, a leather-covered steering wheel, optional skid plates, heated seats, and others.

The All Terrain trim is similar to the SLE trim. The differences are that the All Terrain has an off-road suspension, recovery hooks, skid plates, and styling cues with off-road themes. Goodyear all-terrain tires and a spray-in bed liner are optional.

The two highest trims, the SLT, and the Denali come with even more features. The SLT trim comes with 19-inch wheels, standard leather upholstery, power front seats as well as remote start feature while the Denali comes with features such as 20-inch wheels, navigation, cooled front seats, and Bose audio system.

We can expect the 2020 GMC Canyon to come with the features available for the Previous GMC Canyon. The features should not be the same, of course. The features should be either updated to their latest versions or are entirely brand new.

Safety

The Previous Canyon has decent safety features. The 2020 Canyon should be as well. At the very least, it should have features such as six airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a rearview camera. Other safety features, such as lane-departure and forward collision warning systems, should be available either from a package or in the higher trim levels.

2020 GMC Canyon Release Date and Price

So far, there is no official statement regarding the release date of the 2020 GMC Canyon. However, seeing that the usual release date of GMC Canyon, we can expect the upcoming 2020 Canyon to be released in the second half of 2019.

No official statement regarding the price of the 2020 Canyon, either. For the price, it should be in the same range as the Previous Canyon. The starting price of the Previous Canyon is around $22,200. The starting price of the 2020 Canyon should be in that range, although there may be a slight increase.
