2020 Ford Ecosport Review | Design, Specs & Price – The size of SUVs affects their pricing. Not surprisingly, many SUVs are not affordable for some people. Fortunately, there are alternative options available. If you want a more affordable SUV, look no further than the subcompact SUVs.
Here, we will tell you one of the latest subcompact SUVs in the market: the 2020 Ford EcoSport. Below, we will give a brief description of the design, performance, features, and price ranges of the latest EcoSport.
2020 Ford Ecosport Design
Let’s start with the design. The exterior design is nothing shabby but it is not special either. For a subcompact SUV, the exterior design is decent. It looks rather sleek and modern despite the design elements have been around for more than five years. Also, despite its small size, it looks a bit bulky and boxy.
The interior design is good. It can accommodate five adults comfortable with its two rows of seating. It can be a bit uncomfortable for taller passengers, though. The subcompacts, in general, don’t have large cabins. This includes the 2020 EcoSport, too. That being said, the interior size of the EcoSport is quite large for its class.
The materials used for the interior have good build quality. It is the perfect example of you get what you pay for. As for the cabin size, there are about 20.9 cubic feet behind the rear seating. If the rear seating is folded, the cargo space increases to 50 cubic feet, which is a lot more than most subcompacts.
Specs & Performance
Next, the performance of the 2020 Ford EcoSport. There are two engine options available: the standard three-cylinder, turbocharged EcoBoost engine, and the optional four-cylinder engine. These two engines have different outputs and a wheel-drive system.
The standard engine can deliver up to 123 horsepower. Yes, it is among the lowest outputs in the subcompact class. That said, it is capable enough to handle daily tasks for urbanites. The engine is mated with a six-speed auto transmission gearbox. It is available in front-wheel drive.
The optional engine is more powerful. It can deliver 43 more horsepower than the standard engine. With an output of 166 horsepower, this optional engine is a great option if you need more power. This engine is limited only to all-wheel drive.
In terms of handling, the 2020 EcoSport has responsive steering and is agile. These make the subcompact easy to navigate and maneuver in tight quarters, thus making it a good choice for urbanites alike.
