2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71 Review – Specs, Redesign, Price
2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71: Design, Engine, Features, Release Date and Price | The Silverado lineup has been in the market for more or less two decades now. For a lineup, it certainly isn’t short. If anything, this proves the lineup’s quality. If it doesn’t have a good quality it wouldn’t survive that long. And soon, we will see a new member of the lineup: the New Silverado Trailboss Z71. What kind of pickup will it be? How will it look? We will give you a quick preview of the upcoming Silverado. Let’s start
2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71 Redesign
In terms of looks, the new Silverado won’t be that different from the current Silverado. If anything, they will look very similar. The lack of change is not necessarily a bad thing, though. We know that the Silverado lineup has a good-looking exterior. The new Silverado shouldn’t be an exception to that. It will look rugged and aggressive, just like its predecessors.
The same goes for the interior. Nothing much will change. The new Silverado will have a decent interior with good quality materials and with many features and technology included. In terms of design and quality, the Silverado tends to fall behind its competitors, especially the F-15 and Ram 1500. Even in the higher trim level, the Silverado doesn’t have ambiance and luxurious touches. You can expect a decent interior, but it is unlikely to be more than that.
What about the engine? What kind of engines will be available for the 2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71? The short answer will be this: powerful ones. It is a Silverado Trailboss Z71, after all. The long answer is below.
The Silverado Trailboss Z71 will have a 5.3-liter, V8 engine as the standard. Of course, this 5.3-liter, V8 engine won’t be the only engine options for the 2020 Silverado Trailboss Z71. According to Chevrolet, more than half the trim levels of the 2020 Silverado will have a 6.2-liter, V8 engine with an output of 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be paired with a ten-speed auto transmission gearbox.
Just like the previous Silverado, there is also a diesel option as well. For those who love diesel engines, there is also an all-new 3.0-liter, turbocharged diesel Duramax engine. This engine is capable of delivering up to 277 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque.
The Silverado Z71 will be more powerful as its engine will be complemented with 18-inch wheels, skid plates, a locking rear differential, monotube offroad from Rancho as well as offroad tires from Goodyear.
While in terms of the exterior and interior the upcoming Silverado may not offer much to buyers, things are different in terms of features. It will come with lots and lots of features. This is, of course, great news. So, what kind of features will it come with?
The standard features for the Silverado Trailboss include an 8-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, an audio system with six speakers, OnStar, 4G LET WiFi, and two additional USB ports.
Other features that will be available include smart trailer technology (which enables the driver to access the pickup’s in-Command Control system using the infotainment system or compatible iOS and Android devices), transparent trailer feature, 15 camera views, and adaptive cruise control, among others.
The adaptive cruise control is particularly important. The previous Silverado doesn’t have this feature as an option but now, it is available for the 2020 Silverado. This feature can bring the pickup to a complete stop. Not only that, but this feature is also able to help in reducing gas consumption as it is integrated with the Silverado’s start and stop capability. It is especially useful in a situation like a traffic jam.
2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71 Release Date and Price
At the moment, the 2020 Chevy Silverado Trailboss Z71 hasn’t arrived on the market yet. Chevrolet hasn’t given any official statement regarding the release date as well as the price of the upcoming Silverado. That being said, the new pickup is planned to enter the market somewhere in the second half of 2019. We should see it soon enough.
No official details for the price either. Unlike the release date, however, we can guesstimate the price. The starting price of the upcoming Silverado shouldn’t differ too much from the starting price of the current Silverado. The starting price of the upcoming should be around $43,865.
