Here is the New Update of 2020 Volvo XC40. One of the best Crossovers on the market since it was launched. Many manufacturers compete for this segment, including Volvo. In order to get their own share of the compact crossover segment, Volvo releases the XC40 lineup. Compared to other lineups in the segment, the XC40 has features that make it fit to be a modern compact crossover.
Soon, we are going to see its next iteration: the 2020 XC40. Are you interested in this upcoming XC40? If you are, you may want to read on. We will tell you possible redesign, engine, features, release date, and price of the compact crossover.
2020 Volvo XC40 Redesign
Will there be any redesign for the 2020 Volvo XC40? There should be. We can expect some redesigns here and there for the 2020 XC40. While this is likely to be true, the redesigns will not be something major. The upcoming 2020 XC40 will still retain the overall look of the lineup. In other words, it will have a sleek style, excellent comfort level, and safety.
Let’s start with the exterior. Since the 2019 XC40 is brand-new, we will not see major redesigns. There is no need for redesigns, at least not yet. While it is brand-new the lineup brings distinction and flair to the segment, which is awesome.
In terms of exterior, we expect the XC40 will bring even crisper sculpting, sharp edges as well as standard aluminum wheels. The compact crossover also looks even more sophisticated with its contrasting roof. All of these things make the XC40 stands out from the rest of the pack.
The lights on the front end look amazing. The compact crossover’s taillights not only are proportionate, but they also complement the design theme of the XC40 as well. The LED headlights at the front are angular-shaped with bluff grille while the rear lights have a square shape.
It is also worth mentioning that the contemporaries of the XC40 have a broad and luxury appeal. The XC40, however, is different. Instead of getting a broad and luxury appeal, it has youthful appearance instead. It is a nice strategy by Volvo to attract new customers.
Just as the exterior, we also don’t expect major redesigns for the interior. That being said, there should be changes and updates here and there to make the compact crossover even more appealing and comfortable.
Volvo wants to emphasize connectivity. In the 2019 model, we can see that there is a 9-inch touchscreen display in the cabin, smartphone connectivity (both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), and various available apps. A wireless charging pad is also available as well, although unlike the other it is optional and not standard. We expect these features to be carried on by the 2020 model.
As a compact crossover, the XC40 has a moderate 47.2 cubic feet cargo capacity. This capacity includes the rear seat. While the cargo capacity is moderate and not large, it will be more than enough for daily necessities. If you need more storage, there are also nooks and crannies that can be used as additional storage.
Engine Specs & Fuel Consumptions
The Current model receives a single engine option. However, this single engine will come in three types: gasoline, diesel, and electric. The engine is a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbo unit capable of generating up to 248 horsepower with up to 258 lb-ft of torque. We expect the 2020 model to get the same.
In all three types, the all-wheel-drive system will be the standard. There will be a front-wheel-drive system, but it will be released later. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed auto transmission gearbox. As for the fuel economy, the Current model is rated to have less than 30 mpg.
The transmission gearbox provides not just fast but also smooth shifts. In comfort mode, the driver can feel a more sedate response while in dynamic mode the performance will be optimized. The handling is predictable, the steering is precise and the overall drive is comfortable. The 2020 model will not be that different from this.
2020 Volvo XC40 Features
The 2020 Volvo XC40 is likely to carry on the standard features that the Current model has, including lane departure assist, automatic brake assist, pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera. Even with just standard features, the 2019 model is safe to drive.
Of course, there will be optional features as well. The 2019 model has optional features such as power headrests, dual zone climate control, blind-spot warnings, rear parking assist, automatic dimming mirrors, cross-traffic alert, and many more. These features are available on the higher trim levels.
2020 Volvo XC40 Release Date and Price
At the moment it is still too early to say the exact release date of the 2020 Volvo XC40. After all, even Volvo has not said anything about it. That being the case, we can expect the upcoming XC40 to enter the market either in mid to late 2019 or early 2020 at the latest.
In terms of price, it shouldn’t be too different from the Current XC40. The usual trend is that a new model’s price is in the same price range as its predecessor. Of course, a slight increase is expected, especially if it turns out the new model comes with more features. As for the 2020 Volvo XC40, the price range will be $36,000 for the base model and over $40,000 for the higher trim levels with packages.
So far, the XC40 gets it right in presenting a modern compact crossover. The lineup has a sleek style, is comfortable to drive, and of course, safe to drive too. We do expect the 2020 Volvo XC40 to be able to provide these at least on the same level as its predecessor. Hopefully, it provides better. It is a crowded segment, after all. Volvo should give the best if it were to succeed in gaining market share in the segment. What do you think?
we need to tell you that what you read here may or may not be true. As its name suggests, the 2020 Volvo XC40 is a model for 2020. Since the gap between now and 2020 is long, there can be changes that we don’t include or no changes that we do include. Also, the image we include is an illustration, not the real image of the 2020 XC40.
