Get in-depth expert information for the 2020 Toyota Tacoma Pickup Truck including Redesign, Release Date, Fuel Economy, pricing, features on adorecar.com. The Toyota Tacoma lineup has been in the pickup for years. And yet, it stays the same all these years. There are changes and refresh, of course, but the main theme of the Tacoma lineup stays the same. The third-generation Tacoma debuted back in 2016 and since then, there is no significant change inside and out.
What about the upcoming 2020 Toyota Tacoma? What kind of redesigns and changes will it get? If you are a Tacoma fan, you may want to read on. Here in this article, we are going to tell you possible redesigns both for exterior and interior, engine, safety, release date, and price.
2020 Toyota Tacoma Redesign & Changes
The Tacoma lineup has been years in the market. If it indicates anything, it is a testament to its quality. The design is quite good for a pickup truck, which is why it has not changed all these years. This is why we don’t expect the 2020 Tacoma to change drastically in its exterior and interior. After all, there is no need to fix something that isn’t broken.
Of course, there will redesigns and changes to refresh the look but we don’t think it will change the overall look of the 2020 Tacoma significantly. Instead, we will see some refresh here and there that will make the 2020 model fits as a 2020 pickup truck.
Some reports suggest that 2020 Tacoma will have some noticeable changes on its exterior. One of them is its lower bumper, which appears to be translucent. Due to this, some parts of the chassis and radiator will be a bit visible. There will also be a matte black grille and LED foglights on its front part.
As for the headlights, they are placed a bit high. They also feature LED and halogen bulbs. The placement and bulbs of the headlights enable the driver to see the road better while driving during nighttime. Above its hood, there is a scoop which helps in cooling the engine.
According to some reports, there will be updates underneath the surface for the TRD Pro trim. For this trim, the suspension will get a new set of springs, which will lift the truck an inch above the ground and give it a bigger front sway bar. The front shocks will get 46 mm pistons as well as eight-bypass zones.
In terms of paint colors, the 2020 Tacoma will not have Inferno as its predecessors do. Instead, it will get two new colors, namely Voodoo Blue and Cavalry Blue. The Cavalry Blue is available on all trim levels while the Voodoo Blue is only available on the TRD Pro trim.
The interior will look largely the same with its predecessor. It will maximize on providing comfort and capability. In other words, the interior will be filled with good quality materials and there will be lots of useful features that are easily accessible. According to reports, fabric and leather upholstery will be available. As for the infotainment system, we expect it to get the latest updates. And as usual, the higher trim levels will get more features.
Engine Specs & Fuel Economy
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is likely to come with 2 engine options. The base engine will be a 2.7L four-cylinder DOHC engine with an output of up to 159 horsepower. The optional engine will be a 3.5L DOHC V6 engine with an output of up to 278 horsepower. Both six-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions are available. As for the wheel-drive system, the 2.7L engine will be available in a two-wheel-drive system while the 3.5L engine will be available in an all-wheel-drive system.
Both of these engines are more than enough for a pickup truck. Both are decent in terms of fuel economy as well. The 2.7L engine is measured to have 19 mpg (city) and 23 mpg (highway) fuel economy while the 3.5L engine is measured to have 19 mpg (city) and 24 mpg (highway). The fuel economy is not excellent but it is not bad for a pickup truck.
What about safety? The Tacoma lineup has been using Toyota Safety Sense-P or TSS-P for several years now. We expect the 2020 model to continue this trend. The TSS-P includes various safety features such as adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking (pedestrian detection included), lane departure warning, auto high beams. TSS 2.0 is already used in the Hatchback. This latest version also includes lane tracing, traffic sign detection, and cyclist detection. Unfortunately, it is unlikely to be used for the 2020 Tacoma.
2020 Toyota Tacoma Release Date and Price
Currently, there is no official announcement from Toyota regarding the release date of the 2020 Toyota Tacoma. That being said, since the 2019 Tacoma is released in mid-2018, we can expect the 2020 Tacoma to be released in mid-2019. Just as its predecessors, it will be available in three trims.
There is no announcement yet regarding the price, either. However, in terms of price, we can predict it using the previous models’ price as a reference. There will be three trims: TRD Sports, TRD Off-Road, and TRD Pro. Of course, each trim is priced differently. The TRD Sports price will be in $32,000 range, the TRD Off-Road will be in $33,150 range, and the TRD Pro will be in $41,500 range.
Are you excited for the upcoming 2020 Toyota Tacoma? If you are, just be patient for a bit. The pickup truck is going to be released soon. So far, Tacoma pickups have been able to provide us with a comfortable ride and decent capabilities. We expect at least the same for the 2020 model although we do hope it can provide more. What do you think?
we need to tell you that what you read here may or may not be true. As its name suggests, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma is a model for 2020. Since the gap between now and 2020 is long, there can be changes that we don’t include or no changes that we do include. Also, the image we include is an illustration, not the real image of the 2020 Tacoma.
