2020 Toyota C-HR SUV Dimensions

Toyota CHR is Toyota’s latest lineup in the crossover segment. So far, the lineup has performed decently. Soon enough, we will see its third iteration: the 2020 Toyota CHR. How will it look like? What kind of engine will it get? What about the features and safety? If you want to know more about the upcoming CHR, read on. Below, we will tell you about its possible redesign, engine, feature, safety, release date, and price.

2020 Toyota C-HR Redesign

Considering that the Toyota CHR lineup has just begun its debut in 2018, we don’t think Toyota will give the 2020 Toyota CHR a major redesign. In other words, the 2020 CHR will look more or less the same as the Previous CHR. There should some minor changes and updates, though. At the very least, it should receive changes and updates that make it a good 2020 crossover.

Exterior Facelift

The lineup has a good looking and stylish exterior, something which most crossovers don’t have. Despite being a large crossover, it has stylish shapes and funky intersecting. We can see this on the Previous Toyota CHR, which continues the look of the 2018 Toyota CHR. So, in terms of exterior, the Toyota CHR stands out from the rest.

As we have said earlier, the looks of the 2020 CHR will more or less the same as the Previous CHR. We can expect the exterior to be mostly the same. The lack of change is expected because in general, a lineup gets a redesign once in a few years. The Toyota CHR has just made its debut back in 2018. It is too early for the lineup to get a redesign.

Although a significant redesign may not happen, we can expect the 2020 CHR to get some minor changes and updates. After all, improvement is always good. The upcoming iteration will benefit from changes and updates that make it look sportier, more stylish and modern.

Interior Changes

As with the exterior, we don’t expect much change for the interior. If anything, it should remain more or less the same as the 2019 model. Having a more or less the same interior as the predecessor is not necessarily a bad thing. After all, the lineup already has a nice, roomy, and comfortable interior.

The 2020 Toyota C-HR should be able to seat five people comfortably with enough space for everyone. It should also have decent cargo space. The 2019 model has a cargo space of 19 cubic feet behind the rear seating and 36.4 cubic feet with rear seats folded. We can expect the same for the 2020 CHR. The inside of the 2020 CHR should have a clean layout with many padded surfaces.

2020 Toyota C-HR Specs

The Previous Toyota CHR is powered by a 2.0L, inline-4 engine. This engine is capable of generating up to 144 horsepower with up to 139 lb-ft of torque and towing up to 3,300 pounds. This engine is decent but is relatively weak compared to its competitors. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox with only front-wheel drive system available.

What about the 2020 Toyota CHR? The 2020 CHR is likely to continue to use the same engine as the Previous CHR. Since the same engine is likely to be used, the only thing that makes it able to generate more power and torque is to tweak it. Will Toyota tweak the 2020 CHR’s engine? We don’t know. Only time will tell.

Features

The Previous Toyota CHR comes with a lot of features. The base LE trim comes with features such as cloth sports seats, adjustable front seats, remote keyless entry, automatic climate control (dual-zone), an 8-inch touchscreen display with Entune infotainment system, an audio system with six speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, and Siri Eyes Free.

The XLE trim level comes with all the standard features above plus alloy wheels, and push-button start while the Limited trim comes with all the standard features and additional features such as Entune app suite, windshield wipers with rain sensor, and LED fog lights, among others.

We can expect the New Toyota CHR to come with features above. Just like its predecessor, higher trim levels will have more features than the base trim. Just like with Previous CHR, other additional features like navigation should be available for the 2020 CHR as well. Also, since it is meant to be a 2020 model, the features included should be updated to their latest version.

Safety Equipment

So far, the CHR lineup has come with a lot of safety features. For example, the Previous CHR comes with safety features such as 10 airbags, Toyota Safety Sense (which include automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, and, lane departure alert), a rearview camera, rear cross traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.

While Toyota has yet to announce the safety features of the upcoming CHR, it is safe to say that at the very least, the 2020 CHR should come with the safety features of the Previous CHR.

2020 Toyota C-HR Release Date and Price

So far, no announcement has been made yet by Toyota regarding the release date of the upcoming 2020 Toyota CHR. That being said, we can expect it to be released this year, probably in the second half of the year. Release in early 2020 is possible but is unlikely to happen.

As for the price, it will not be too different from the price of the 2019 Model. The price range of the 2020 CHR will be more or less the same with the Previous CHR. The starting price of the Previous CHR is around $20,945, the 2020 CHR should not be too different. Expect a slight increase in the price range.
