2020 Porsche Macan Redesign & Changes
First thing first, the design. Unlike many of its competitors, the 2020 Macan looks quite sporty and masculine. You can just tell that it is a powerful vehicle from its looks. The sporty front and rear grilles, the “sunken” side doors, and smooth curves all around, all create a fitting exterior for a performance-focused crossover SUV.
The outside looks sporty and masculine. What about the inside? The inside is filled with quality materials. Yes, even the base model has leather in it. All models of the 2020 Macan can accommodate 5 adult passengers comfortably.
It is not without downsides of course. For example, the legroom of the 2020 Macan is decent at best So is the cargo capacity. There are many other SUVs that have better legroom and cargo capacity.
Engine Specs, Performance & Fuel Economy
The 2020 Macan is available in three models. The base model, the S model, and the Turbo model. Each of these models is powered by a different engine. The base model’s engine has the lowest output, the S is in the middle, and the Turbo has the highest.
The base Macan is powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The engine is able to deliver up to 248 horsepower with 273 lb-ft of torque and is estimated to have a fuel economy of 19 mpg for city and 23 mpg for highway.
Under the hood of the S model, there is a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine is a lot more powerful than the base engine, with exactly 100 horsepower addition. It can deliver as high as 348 horsepower with 354 lb-ft of torque. It has very similar fuel economy to the base engine, with 18 mpg for city and 23 mpg for highway.
There is something interesting about the Turbo model. While other automakers upgrade the engine for their lineups, especially the top model, Porsche is different. The top model of the 2020 Porsche Macan, the Turbo, receives an engine downgrade.
2020 Porsche Macan Turbo
The 2019 Turbo is powered by a 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine with an output of 400 horsepower. The 2020 Turbo, however, gets a smaller engine: a 2.9-liter, twin-turbocharged V6. Surprisingly enough, this smaller engine has more output than the previous engine, able to deliver 434 horsepower with 406 lb-ft of torque.
