2020 Lamborghini Urus Concept & Debut

The SUV segment is hot right now. It is simply unavoidable for many car manufacturers, including Lamborghini. To compete in the SUV market, Lamborghini released the Urus lineup. The 2019 Lamborghini came with various amazing features. The questions are, how will the upcoming  Lamborghini Urus look like? What kind of engine will it have? Read on. We will tell you what can be expected of the redesign, performance, release date, and price of the 2020 Urus.

2020 Lamborghini Urus Redesign

Speaking of redesigns for its exterior and interior, we don’t expect the 2020 Lamborghini Urus to get a major redesign. What is more likely to happen is that the upcoming Urus will carry own most of what the Current Urus has. In other words, the exterior and interior aren’t likely to be that different between the upcoming Urus and its predecessor. While a major redesign isn’t likely to happen, there will be some updates, changes, and tweak here and there.

A major redesign is unlikely, the 2020 Urus will carry on the same 118.20-inch large SUV wheelbase. This wheelbase is slightly longer than Audi Q7’s. Uniquely enough, while the Current Urus uses the same platform as Q7 does, the concept of the SUV is closer to BMW X6.

From the outside, the New Urus has a sporty, modern, and stylish look. It has a front, blunt, and blocky front-end. We expect the 2020 Lamborghini Urus will keep this look with some tweaks and more emphasize fitting for a 2020 SUV.

The Urus lineup is very good-looking SUV. Since it already has a good look that many like we don’t think Lamborghini will change the look of the lineup. At least not in the foreseeable future, that is.

2020 Lamborghini Urus Interior

As we said earlier, just like the exterior, the interior will not get a major redesign. The Urus’ dashboard is dominated by hexagons. Interestingly enough, the controls are designed in an aviation-style. For example, the start button of the  Urus is placed under a red flip cover. Also, its shifter does look like the throttle of a jet not to mention the shifter is also framed by Tamburo levers. Will the 2020 Urus retain this unique-looking dashboard? Most likely, since it makes the SUV stands out from the rest.

While the Urus is an SUV, it still carries the same feels that other Lamborghini cars have. This is especially true for the seats. The seats are relatively high and will make the passengers upright. As for the interior looks, it has an exotic-car theater looks. The interior is filled with carbon fiber and stitched microsuede.

Performance

The Lamborghini Urus is Lamborghini’s first V8-powered since 1988. With a V8 engine, the previous Lamborghini Urus is capable of delivering an output of up to 641 horsepower with 627 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed auto transmission gearbox. While the transmission is automatic, the SUV can be shifted manually by using a trigger-like paddle placed behind the steering wheel.

Performance is where the Urus stands out from the rest in the SUV segment. You can see it from the powerful engine that the lineup has. Just take a look at the previous Urus, for example, with its engine the previous Urus is capable of reaching 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.6 seconds. This is astonishingly fast for an SUV. Not to mention that the engine allows the SUV to reach up to 190 mph.

Will the engine be replaced for the 2020 Urus? It is unlikely. There should be some tweaks here and there, though. The reason we expect the engine will be carried on is that the output and torque of the previous Urus are very high for an SUV. Since the engine is very capable of doing just about any task thrown at it, we don’t expect the manufacturer will change it for the 2020 Lamborghini Urus.

There should be optional front and rear tires for the 2020 model. The 2019 model has Pirelli P Zero 285/35R front tires and 325/30R-23 rear tires as optional tires, which offer a powerful grip for the SUV. The 2020 model should not be different.

As an SUV, the Urus lineup is impressive on the road. It provides a comfortable, steady, and composed feeling. The SUV also performs quite well on the racetracks and off-road, albeit not as impressive as on the road. We believe the 2020 Urus will have more or less the same feat.

2020 Lamborghini Urus Release Date and Price

Currently, there is no official statement from Lamborghini regarding the release date for 2020 Lamborghini Urus. That being said, the upcoming Urus should enter the market somewhere in 2019 as it is intended to be a 2020 model. It is possible that the upcoming Urus may enter the market in early 2020 but we think it is unlikely to happen.

While the same can be said for the price, we can guesstimate it using the price of the previous Lamborghini Urus. After all, the price of a new model will not be too different from its immediate predecessor. The price of the previous Urus starts in the $200,000 range for the base model. We can expect the same for the 2020 Urus.

Lamborghini’s specialty is to bring astonishment to people. The previous Lamborghini Urus has given us astonishment. We expect the 2020 Lamborghini Urus will be capable of giving us astonishment, too. The upcoming Urus should carry on what its predecessor has and emphasize it more. The SUV market is very competitive, after all. As such, Lamborghini must do their best for the upcoming Urus if it wants to dominate the market. What do you think?

Disclaimer

Before we start, we need to tell you that what you read here may or may not be true. As its name suggests, the 2020 Lamborghini Urus is a model for 2020. Since the gap between now and 2020 is long, there can be changes that we don’t include or no changes that we do include. Also, the image we include is an illustration, not the real image of the 2020 Urus.
