2020 KIA Stinger Engine Specs

2020 KIA Stinger Engine Specs

Brace yourself as the new 2020 Kia Stinger has arrived.  The Kia Stinger lineup has been in the market for about two years now. For a lineup, that is certainly very young. But don’t mistake age for greatness. The Kia Stinger, despite being a very young lineup, is considered as one of the best vehicles in its class. And now, the latest iteration has been released.

There is something interesting about the new Stinger. The Stinger gets mild updates, which makes what is already good into something better. Interested in the new Kia Stinger? Read our short review below. We will tell you variants, design update, engines, features, and prices of the Kia Stinger

Fewer Variants

For the new Stinger, the mid-level variants like 200Si and 330Si are no longer available. Now, there are three variants for the new Kia Stinger. These variants are the entry-level S, GT, and the flagship GT-Line.

Of course, each of these variants comes with different features. The S trim level, being the base model, comes with standard features. The GT-Line, on the other hand, comes with standard features and various additional others.

2020 KIA Stinger Redesign with New Color Option

The exterior design is mostly the same. The new Stinger does, however, come with a new exterior color. Now, the Stinger is available in orange. The roof lining now has an extra layer of noise, vibration, and harshness insulation. There is also a heated steering wheel, though this amenity is available only on the GT and GT-Line variants

Under The Hood; Same Engines

There are two engine options available for the 2020 Kia Stinger. The first is a 2.0-liter, inline-four turbo engine. This is the standard engine. It is able to generate up to 255 horsepower with up to 260 lb-ft of torque. The second engine is optional, a 3.3-liter, V6 engine capable of delivering a whopping 365 horsepower with 376 lb-ft of torque.

Both of these engines are paired with an eight-speed auto transmission gearbox. The rear-wheel-drive system is standard while the all-wheel-drive is available as optional.

Standard and Additional Features

What about features? The standard features of the base variant include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, driver attention alert, forward-collision warning system, lane keep assist, launch control, a 7-inch, touchscreen display with navigation system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and radio, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an eight-speed auto transmission with paddle shifters.

The 330S variant with the 3.3-liter engine comes equipped with all of the standard features with the addition of a mechanical limited-slip differential installed on the rear axle and larger Brembo brakes.

The GT-Line and GT variants has more features, such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive dampers, blind-spot monitoring, heated front seats, power sunroof, suede headliner, rear cross-traffic alert, an 8-inch touchscreen display, a colored head-up display, 19-inch wheels, a wireless phone charger, and premium audio system with 15 speakers.

There are additional features exclusive to the GT variant only. These additional features are special multifunction displays for the driver, Pilot Sport 4 tires from Michelin, and Nappa leather-wrapped sports seats.

2020 KIA Stinger Prices

The pricing is mostly the same. That’s right. The price of the 2020 Stinger is more or less the same as its predecessor. Here is the pricing for each variant.

  • The 220S variant costs around $47,190
  • The 330S variant costs around $50,190
  • The GT-Line variant costs around $56,290
  • The GT variant costs around $60,790

Verdict

As you can see, the 2020 Stinger is just as amazing as its predecessor. Thanks to the mild updates, it has improved appearance and performance. So far, it has been a great choice bang for the buck as even the base variant comes with lots of standard features. Even more so for the other variants, especially the GT-Line and GT, as these variants come with lots of additional features.

Unfortunately, the 2020 Stinger doesn’t have mid-range variants like the 200Si and 330Si, which are the middle options between the base variant and the higher GT-Line and GT in terms of features and pricing. For the 2020 Stinger, the options are only the base S (220S and 330S), GT-Line, and GT variants.

The Stinger is, albeit new, a lineup of reliable, capable, and stylish liftbacks. The 2020 Stinger just proves this further. What do you think? Does the new 2020 Kia Stinger pique your interest?
