The Korean brand, Kia is making a new look and identity for its mid-size sedan. The new 2021 Kia Optima become popular in an edgy sedan in sedan criteria. It’s more spacious than the previous series. It has been featuring all-wheel drive and the options of a turbocharged engine that offers from this Korean automaker.
In Korea, the Kia Optima is well-known as the K5 model. Rumor has it the distribution of this new series will be for Korea, Asia, and the Northern America market. Some said that the first appearance of this car will be at the Los Angeles Auto Show. However, there’s no confirmation yet from Kia which model showed off.
Optima has rumored that it has a hybrid system engine in U.S. Market. These two engines are confirmed for the Northern American market. The Optima GT used hybrid turbocharged and one feature that differs from the other trims.
2021 Kia Optima Redesign
The new Kia Optima is edgier than the previous model. The whole body shaped like shark skin, glossy and shiny. The design is the new trick to get attention by using the chromatic effect for the outlines. It gives an elegant impression for those who have it. The outlines are in window lines are in the rear windows. Also, the lamp can give a heartbeat effect that can be repeated in a few seconds in the rear lighting.
The new Optima has had a more spacious room. It has two inches longer size, an inch wider size, and two-inches higher size than the previous series. The long is 193.1-inches, the wide is 73.2-inches, and from the wheelbase until the roof is 112.2-inch. It gives a comfortable sensation in driving the new Optima.
Engine Specs & Performance
The 2021 Kia Optima is confirmed with two types of turbocharged engines. The engines are the standard and the hybrid powertrains. The Optima is confirmed will available in the U.S. and Canada because the technology is supported well. By using those two gas engines (standard and hybrid) will reduce the consumption of the gas. Also, it can switch to hybrid mode.
KIA claims that the Optima GT built up with a 2.5-liter turbocharged-4 cylinder engine that performs about 286 Horsepower or 213 kW and 181 lb-ft of torque. It claimed that it reaches 60 mph in 6 seconds. The reason is the engine is paired with an eight-automatic-transmission speed that can make the sedan accelerates itself from 0-100 kilometers per hour.
Then, for the basic engine of Optima is a 1.6-liter turbocharged-4 cylinder and a 2-liter turbocharged engine. The basic engines can perform about 178 Horsepower or 132 kW using hybrid and 195 lb-ft of torque. Also, the 2 liters turbocharged-4 cylinder with an injection system can perform about 150 Horsepower or 112 kW using hybrid and 142 lb-ft of torque.
It includes various kinds of wheels types. There are four wheels options that you can choose, 16-,17-,18-, or 19-inch. The 19-inch wheels only built up with the Optima GT. This sedan supported by the all-wheel-drive system and two variants. The variants are the hybrid and the sporty ones. Also, the new Optima will share the new experience in driving by giving a six or an eight automatic transmission speeds.
New Features
The new KIA Optima brings a minimalist design in its interiors. It has a 10.3-inch touchscreen display in the center of the dashboard. Then, in the driver seat, there is a 12.3-inch digital display to show the speedometer, time, fuel capacity, etc. Using leathers to show elegant and edgy ambient, the KIA Optima is successful to grab the attention of the executives to have it.
The dashboard finishing has two options. It can be installed with wood surfaces or metal. There wouldn’t be any worry over the safety of this sedan.
This car also equipped with an automatic emergency brake system, blind-spot sensors, active lane assistant, adaptive cruise control, a voice-recognition system, premium audio by Bose, and navigation. The New Kia Optima Sedan will release to the market in the half of 2020. But there’s no confirmation about the exact date by the Kia Motors. The Optima’s manufacturer suggests retailed price prediction is around $28,000 to $30,000. The fixed price depends on the trim that you choose in the dealer. You have two choices to have the Optima.
First, you can take a lease deal. Second, you can take a finance deal. If you want to buy it using one of the choices, you need to prepare the down payment, the sale tax, also the administration fees. Before taking the deals, compare the lease rate and the benefits of using each leasing institutions. If you want to buy it cash you will get the rebate around $2,500-3,000 from the dealer’s price.
